Guidance
Have you ever been a little nervous about measuring for window blinds or shades? Here are some tips from the pros and an almost surefire way to be sure you don't make any mistakes.
handy hints
Take all your measurements in centimeters (cm) to the nearest. If your measurements are in inches, you can convert them into centimeters using a length convertor.
Always look out for things like window handles or tiles or any obstructions next to the windows. You'll need to take their position into account to ensure a perfect fit.
All our blinds can be fitted into the face of your window frame or wall. This gives you complete control over the positioning of your blind.
If you have any questions about measuring for blinds,

what you will need
1. A tape measure. Metal ones are the best!
2. A pen and piece of paper
What you need to know
1. When measuring for blinds, always go width first and height second.
2. Do you want to hang the blind on the inside the window or outside the window?
How to measure & install your blinds for windows?
Inside or Outside?
You can choose to have your blind made to fit the inside of the recess of your window or it can hang on the outside.
Inside: Take the exact measurements of the window that is the width first and then the height. Write it down on a paper. Since the blind will be mounted inside the window, the measurements need to be adjusted. So 4 cm has to be reduced from the width and 7 cm from the height.
Installation: Place the blind inside the window and center it, mark on the wall where the screw eyes are positioned, then drill and apply the fittings provided
Inside Window Frame
Outside: Take the exact measurements of the window that is the width first and then the height. Write it down on a paper. Since the blind will be hanged outside the window, the measurements need to be adjusted. So 15 cm has to be added to the width and 20 cm to the height.
Installation: Place the blind over the window and center it. The wooden bar should be 15cm above the window level and center 7.5cm overlap on both sides of the window. Then mark on the wall where the screw eyes are positioned, then drill and apply the fittings provided.
Outside Window Frame
How to measure & install your blinds for Terrace, Veranda or Balcony (outside use)?
There are different ways of fixing blinds for outside use and it depends on the size of the poles: overlap on the poles or in between poles. For the top installation, it depends on the size of the beam. If the beam is quite height, the blind can be fixed on the side of the beam rather than under the beam. This way is more perfect, when the blind is rolled up completely, it will hide behind the beam.
1. Overlap the poles and by the side of the beam.
2. In between the poles and under the beam.
Tips:
1. Decide properly where and how the blinds will be fitted.
2. As usual take the width first and then the height
3. Reduce the width by 4cm if it is in between the poles or add the required width for overlapping.
4. Reduce 10cm on the height for the fittings. The blinds should be well stretched when fitted.
